The National leadership of the Labour Party (LP) has declared their unshaken support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan come 2015.The declaration was made on Sunday in Abeokuta at the party's Unity Rally.
Leaders of the party at the rally included the National executives led by Chief Dan Nwanyawu; Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko; and former Ogun State governor, Gbenga Daniel; former Minister of Mines and Steel development, Alhaji Sharaf Ishola and a host of others.
Addressing the rally,the National Chairman urged party members to continue to support President Jonathan's re-election, same way they did in 2011.He also urged them to constantly pray for the President.
Nwanyanwu added “let us pray for the school girls that were abducted in Borno State and as we keep praying may God release them for us.”
Speaking at the rally,Governor Mimiko said “we supported Jonathan in 2007, and we will still continue to support him”, adding, “LP is different because we have ideological focus, for the benefit of our people”.
