2nd Niger Bridge:GEJ,A Man Of His Words

The issue of the second Niger Bridge had been on the cards for as far back as any body's memory can recall but had been negleted by successive Federal Governments.President Goodluck Jonathan during his 2011 Presidential Campaign promised to revitalise critical infrastructure in the South-East among them, the second Niger Bridge.During one of his visits to Anambra State, the President said"When the first bridge was built,it was during the Presidency of Nnamdi Azikiwe;the second Niger bridge will be built under the Presidency of Azikiwe Jonathan".
At some point,i believe some indegenes of the South-East lost faith in the President's ability and sincerity to deliver on his promise, but considering the fact that this same President had already given them an International Airport for the first time in their history,it would not have been out of place if some others still trusted in Jonathan's ability to deliver.
Finally, the ground breaking ceremony of the second Niger Bridge took place today with the President acknowledging the fact that his promise was being fulfilled.During the ceremony,Jonathan said"My sincere promise during my campaign is today made a reality to the good people of the South-East and South-South.He also said"The bridge when completed would be key to economic development of the South-East and South-South zones".The President commended the people of the South-East and South-South for their patience over delays in construction of the bridge.
This singular act has once again cemented Goodluck Jonathan's reputation as a man whose word is his bond,a man always ready to take a bold step where his predecessors could not,a man who is committed to building Nigeria. The President has again embarked on a project that has been abandoned for many years, the same way he did with restoration of railway services, unbundling of Power Sector,Enugu International Airport, building of Zungeru Power Plant to mention a few.
The APC by now will be hiding their faces in shame as i am sure they must have marked out this bridge as a campaign point in the South-East against the President in other to score cheap political points as usual.
All hail Gracious GEJ The Builder
