PDP Recognises The Needs Of The Common Man

My decision to settle for the heading above is as a result of the unfortunate statement credited to an APC chieftain in Jigawa State.Due to the ongoing demolition exercise in Jigawa,Alhaji Ishaq Hadejia described PDP as a capitalist party that does not recognise the needs of the common man.Again,this is another baseless propaganda coming from the APC.These are my reasons for saying so;
  • I doubt if those born in the 80s had the oppurtunity of seeing rail transportation in Nigeria.The PDP has restored rail transportation.The common man can now move his goods from Lagos to Kano by rail.Soon rail services from Abuja to Kaduna will be operative and the federal  government has promised to link major cities by rail.
  • The PDP has put a system in place that ensures that farmers(mostly made up of the common man)can now recieve thier seeds and fertilizers directly.In 2013 alone,4.2 million farmers were beneficiaries of this system.
  • Because the PDP knows the common man cannot afford and constantly power generating sets,it has unbundled the Power Sector,to improve our light situation.Various power plants are being built too.The results are evident.
  • The PDP has built twelve additional federal universities for the common man to attend and also send his kids.Because the government knows he cannot afford the cost of private tertiary institutions or schooling abroad.
  • The PDP has also built 125 Almajiri schools in the North to enhance the education of the common man.
  • The PDP has commenced work on the second Niger Bridge,so that the common man can transport goods easily.
  • In 2013 the PDP built about 9 dams to increase our water supply,so that the comman man can have excess water for his use.
These and many others too numerous to mention here are the achievements of the PDP just under President Goodluck Jonathan.If i have to mention all the achievements of the PDP during this government and past governments,then this article will have no end.How can a PDP government that has done all these and still doing more not recognise the needs of the common man?
Domolitions are usually carried out to beautify the state and also conform with its master plan.It affects both the rich and the poor.I remember how years ago, Ahmadu Ali,a sitting National Chairman of the PDP as at then had his house demolished by the relevant agency for not being in compliance with the Abuja master plan.It is so unfortunate that the APC always seeks to play politics with every decision of government.
