Chairman of USA branch of the PDP, Chief
Oluwafemi Sanyaolu, has condoled with families of the students killed
by Boko Haram insurgents in Yobe State.
Speaking with newsmen over the weekend,
he described the killing as callous, barbaric and unacceptable. Chief
Sanyaolu said “It is the height of heartlessness for anybody to kill
innocent children in their sleep.”
He wondered if the insurgents ever considered that the students they recklessly killed did not have a say in the circumstances surrounding their being in school.
“The children were in school because their parents wanted them to be in school. If you (Boko Haram) are not heartless why are you targeting little children that have not done anything to you? These children represented the future of our country, do you think you can bully them into submission? Their innocent blood is on your hands and I implore you to ask for forgiveness and tow the path of peace,” he said.
He declared support for the new national chairman of the PDP, Alh Adamu Muazu, saying, “Muazu has the unique leadership qualities of a peacemaker and bridge builder” and urged President Goodluck Jonathan make his intention for 2015 known.
