China Invested 1.79 Billion Dollars In Nigeria In 2013-Envoy

That Nigeria economy has grown, attracting the highest Direct Foreign Investment in Africa under President Goodluck Jonathan is no longer news. What remains news is the shameless manner by which the opposition especially the APC constantly trys to down play the President's achievements.
Those who doubt the achievements of this administration by now would have heard the declaration made by a Chinese Envoy that China invested 1.79 billion dollars in Nigeria in 2013.

The Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in Lagos, Mr. Liu Kan, yesterday said China's non-financial direct investments in Nigeria in 2013 stood at $1.79 billion (about N293.5billion). Liu who spoke in Lagos said  the investments were mainly those of Chinese companies involved in free trade zone, petroleum, iron and steel, manufacturing and agricultural sectors.
"The main investors, which are more than 40 companies, include China National Offshore Oil Corporation, China National Petroleum Corporation and China Railway Construction Corporation. "The Chinese Government will continue to encourage and support Chinese companies' investment in Nigeria," Liu said.
He also said their investments in Nigeria would increase in the future, and that the chinese government was committed to supporting the Nigerian government's effort at attracting foreign investors.
