APC Will Fall To PDP Same Way COPE Fell To ANC

 The PDP has had its fair share of internal misunderstandings,but unlike most political parties that were consumed by such, the PDP  has always weathered the storm, coming out  as a strong and united party as evidenced by the number of years the party has remained one,when others have either disappeared or merge.It can rightly be said that the PDP has been one big happy family.However, things changed when some rebellious elements in the party decided to disturb its peace. These PDP governors conspired amongst themselves with a two point agenda;removal of the then National Chairman of the party Dr Bamanga Tukur and the stoppage of President Goodluck Jonathan's legitimate but undeclared second term ambition.

However, when all their plots failed,these five most desperate governors in their bids to achieve their personal goals defected to the All Progressive Congress ,where they have been posing as messiahs and telling all who care to listen that they are out to rescue the nation. After their defection,few other disloyal elements in the party have since followed suit.

Does it not strike your mind that ever since this governors and their likes joined the opposition,the PDP ship has become stable?Does it mean these elements were responsible for the dishamony in the PDP?President Jonathan answered these questions correctly when he said"So people who have been with PDP for 14 years and they are telling you they left PDP because they are progressives,that means that all these years,they have been practicing anti-progressive activities in the PDP and they were problems to us.You will agree with me that now that this anti-progressive elements have left,PDP will even move faster and faster and it will become bigger and bigger".The PDP has simply gone through a "Transformation Period" ,it is like putting gold through the test of fire in order to ascertain its originality.If history is anything to go by,then 2015 will be another year of huge electoral harvest for the PDP while the APC would fail and bury their desperate faces in shame. 

The current situation in Nigeria between PDP and APC is similar to events in South Africa in 2009 where after 14 years of de facto single party rule under the African National Congress(ANC),the party of Nelson Mandela and of Liberation experienced  serious internal divisions over leadership personality, alleged corruption, and ideological conflict.
Such division led prominent ANC vanguards Mosiua Lekota,Mbhazima Shilowa and Mluleki George to officially severe their ties with the ANC and found the Congress of People(COPE). Lekota who was former Defence Minister and close ally of former President Thabo Mbeki, signaled an acute change in atmosphere of South African politics.COPE quickly became politically relevant as more prominent names of the ANC joined the new party with general elections around the corner.

However, despite the opposition posed by COPE which  was formed by disgruntled members of ANC just like APC, Jacob Zuma of ANC easily won the Presidential elections by  defeating COPE leader Mvume Dandala by 277 votes to 47.ANC also won 264 seats in the 400 member National Assembly while COPE won just 30 seats with other parties making up the balance.

Another good example is Taiwan, when in 1993,prominent members of the Tiwanese National Party departed from the party, accusing the party leader of being authocratic and veering away from the traditional ideological strain of the party. The fact that Taiwan new party did not have a clear, independent, ideological  delineation same as APC proved to be  most  problematic. Currently the political importance of the new party has diminish greatly.

Going by history both outside and in Nigeria,APC which is a gathering of strange bed fellows whose desire is to seize power by all means is bound to fail.President Goodluck Jonathan has also added his voice to this, saying the APC gang-up will fail.He said"We have been told that some people are ganging up in some different names.I can assure you,don't be bothered about any gang-up.This is not the first time that they has been a gang-up.From 1999,there was a gang-up.Two,three political parties came together.They brought presidential candidate from one of the parties,and vice presidential candidate from one other party.The gang-up will fail".

Like i have always said,APC is a house built on a faulty foundation with deceit and lies as major components.And as we all know,a house built on a weak foundation is bound to collapse.
