Plateau state governor, Jonah Jang, says he has started the process of replacing old politicians with younger ones in Plateau politics. He made this comment in Jos on friday at lecture in Jos in honour of his 70th birthday.
The governor said“We have set machineries in motion to
weed the old brigades from contesting in future polls as a way of
minimising corruption in the system.’’
“The reason we have a lot of rot in the
system is that the old politicians have deliberately refused to groom
the young generation of politicians.“We are ready to mentor the young politicians so as to take over from us.
“We are not against the old politicians, but we want those patriotic young people to take over the mantle of leadership from us,” he said.
The Senate President David Mark was also in attendance during the lecture and spoke nicely of the governor.
“Governor Jang is reliable, honest and committed to uplift the living standards of the common man in the society.
“Jang is committed to his principles and ideologies of salvaging the rural folks from misery, hunger and diseases,’’ he said.
