Goodluck Jonathan:Changing The Old Order(Part 3)

The Security situation is one that has given this government sleepless nights as the members of the book haram sect continue to launch senseless attacks on Nigerians; my sympathy goes to all who have lost loved ones during this period. We still remember how shortly before the 2011 elections some people promised to make the country ungovernable if Jonathan won the elections. This notwithstanding, the President has faced the security situation  without fear or favour .Members of the Nigerian Armed forces have been battling the insurgents ever since the President declared a State of Emergency in some Northern states. With constant law enforcement and intelligence gathering, the federal government has largely been able to contain insurgency to Bornu and Yobe states. The President in his bid to infuse fresh ideas and fresh blood in the fight against terrorism recently replaced the nation’s Service Chiefs. The immediate past Chief of Air staff who took up the position of Chief of Defence Staff Air Marshal Alex Badeh had this to say"The security situation in the North east must be brought to a complete stop before April so that we will not have constitutional problems on our hands".
Sadly, some section of the media which is largely controlled by the opposition still glorify terrorist and their nefarious activities, making them look like  demigods. President Goodluck is not ignorant of the fact that Nigerians expect the insurgency to be brought to an end and very soon too, be that as it may,I implore Nigerians to recognize the fact that our fight against terrorism is similar to the fight against terrorism world over. This being so,the government is doing everything possible to make sure insurgency is a thing of the past.As the Armed Forces continue to launch attacks on them, they too will make efforts to retaliate as is the case during warfare, but as a matter of certainty, we will overcome this battle against terrorism and insecurity.

In Sports, Nigeria spent 19 years battling and struggling to win another African Nations Cup trophy all to no avail. Our football federation battled with corruption. But president Jonathan came in and sanitized the system. The results have been so overwhelming, Nigeria have now won the African Nations Cup after 19 years, the country also emerged winners in the Under 17 world Cup and in addition have qualified for the World Cup scheduled to take place in Brazil latter this year. Little wonder why the Hon Minister for Sports Bolaji Abdullahi has continuously referred to President Jonathan and rightly so as the most successful President in Nigerian sporting history.
The details of President Jonathan’s developmental strides are endless. Nigerians need to put their weight behind this President for our own good. The All Progressive Congress have nothing to offer, they are all noise makers who feel Nigerians are fools. Jonathan still remains the answer or would you rather vote for a party whose leader runs the show like an emperor, giving all available juicy positions to himself and his family? A  group, Human Rights Network Initiative(HRNI) spoke against the APC and its lack of focus and ideology. It said"APC is suffering from acute development bankruptcy because the party does not have a well articulated ideology, policies, programmes and plan of action to develop the country as a credible alternative to the PDP".It also said"APC has through its spokesman,Lai Mohammed, been dishing out insults and threats of violence and mayhem in the country. The party is an empty sack full of noise- making which has succeeded in misleading and decieving gullible and vulnerable politicians to its fold".

The old order is against any change that is for good. Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife spoke my mind as regards the fight against Jonathan, he said"All the attacks by this groups on President Goodluck Jonathan stem from one thing: some people believe they are born to rule while others are born to be ruled. They therefore see the present situation where a person who was born to be ruled is now ruling as a reversal of the natural order of things". Senator Smart Adeyemi's statement is also apt in this regard"Do  you know why many of those who are ganging up today are ganging up? Every one of them have personal reasons not collective reasons. They are some that believe that Goodluck administration has affected their source of economic power. They are those who are nursing ambition to be president. They are those who feel that some people that are nursing ambition won't get it, let them hang somewhere, maybe they will be considered".President Jonathan through his Transformation Agenda has block all their dubious sources of"free money"like I have always called it. They feel a peaceful term and another four years for this same man will put the final nail on the caskets of their already dead selfish political and economic interests, hence, the man must be stopped by all means.
The teaming supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan have accepted the fact that the champions of the old order will never see anything good in what the President and his administration does,in the same vein, these greedy fellows will have to live with the very bitter truth that change has come to stay and never again will the future of Nigerians be dictated according to the desires of the custodians of the old order. Enough is enough!
