PDP Governors Urge Service Chiefs to Change Strategy

According to Daily Trust,The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  Governors Forum has described the recent massacre of students in Yobe State as barbaric and called on security chiefs in the country to device a better way of handling the situation.

Addressing journalists yesterday shortly after its meeting in Minna, Niger State, the forum’s chairman and governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio sympathized with families of the victims.
“The forum appreciates and commends efforts of security agents in fighting insurgency in the country, but we want security chiefs to work out new strategies in order step up the fight,” he said.
The forum also charged delegates to the national conference to put the interest of the country above all other considerations in the course of deliberation. 
The governors of Jigawa, Sule Lamido, Bauchi, Isa Yuguda, Katsina, Shehu Shema, Benue, Gabriel Suswan, Kaduna, Ramalan Yero, Gombe, Ibrahim Dankwambo, Kogi, Idris Wada, Abia, Theodore Orji, Cross River, Liyel Imoke, Akwa-Ibom, Godswill Akpabio and acting governor of Taraba, Umar Garba attended the meeting.
Others in attendance were the deputy governors of Nasarawa, Sokoto, Adamawa and Delta States
